Digitize your family memories, including photos, slides, negatives, home movies, audio, and more. Convert these and other items from older formats to current digital formats. We provide a variety of scanning and other digital conversion equipment. Our scanners are available for self-service. While we do not provide services for patrons, we provide assistance with using the scanning equipment.

Scanner FAQs

  • Most of our equipment can be reserved through our online reservation page. If you can't find the equipment you're looking for, someone at our help desk will be happy to assist you.

  • Slidesnap Pro (Station #75 - 76)

    • Captures the slides as is, with no pre-capture processing
    • You can scan your slides rapidly, but cannot edit them in the program
    • We recommend using this for scanning large quantities of slides.

    Large Epson Flatbed (Station #40-41)

    • This scanner has the ability to apply color restoration to images when scanning. This makes the colors on the digital image reflect more of the true colors of the original image, and removes such things as red, blue, or yellow tint common to old slides or print photos.
    • Due to the high resolution and editing abilities this scanner has, it takes longer to scan than other scanners.
    • This scanner is recommended for any slides that need to be printed.

    Small Epson Flatbed (Station #39)

    • This scanner has the ability to apply color restoration to slides when scanning.
    • This makes the colors on the digital image reflect more of the true colors of the image, and removes the red or blue tint slides often have.

    Kodak Slides/Negatives Scanner (Station #62)

    • Use for 35mm slides
    • Scans both color and black and white
  • Plustek Optibook Flatbed (Stations # 35-38)

    • This scanner is best if your photos are old/fragile.
    • The scanner has the capability to scan as a PDF, JPEG and other file types.
    • You can also do color scan, greyscale, or black and white.
    • You should bring a USB to save your files.

    Large Epson Flatbed (Stations #40-41)

    • Good for high resolution scanning large print photographs.
    • Good for when you want to use the digital images to make high quality prints.

    Photo Feed Scanner (Stations #73-74)

    • This scanner allows you to scan large amounts of photos at one time.
    • Best for images no larger than 8"x11"
    • The feeder allows for 20-25 photos at a time.
    • Each photo takes 1-3 seconds to scan.
    • You can also enhance your photos through the program, but it will add to your scan time.
    • You should bring a USB to save your photos.
  • Plustek Optibook Flatbed (Stations # 35-38)

    • This scanner is best if your photos are old/fragile.
    • The scanner has the capability to scan as a PDF, JPEG and other file types.
    • You can also do color scan, greyscale, or black and white.
    • You should bring a USB to save your files.

    Large Epson Flatbed (Stations #40-41)

    • Good for high resolution scanning of documents.
    • Due to the high resolution and editing abilities this scanner has, it takes longer to scan than other scanners.
  • Plustek Optibook Flatbed (Stations # 35-38)

    • This scanner can be used to scan scrapbooks and books.
    • The scanner has the capability to scan as a PDF, JPEG and other file types.
    • You can also do color scan, greyscale, or black and white.
    • You should bring a USB to save your files.
  • Large Epson Flatbed (Stations #40-41)

    • Good for high resolution scanning of photographic film negatives.
    • You will need to bring a USB to save your scans.

    Small Epson Flatbed (Station #39)

    • This scanner has the ability to apply color restoration when scanning.
    • This makes the colors on the digital image reflect more of the true colors of the image, and removes the red or blue tint slides often have.
    • Bring a USB flash drive or external hard drive to save your files.
