Virtual Classes provide an opportunity to learn about family history from the BYU Library family history missionaries and guest instructors. Live classes are generally on Sundays and recordings can be viewed at any time.

Sunday Classes FAQs

  • Yes! Besides Sunday Classes, we also have many other virtual classes, webinars, instructional videos, and tutorials.

  • We do record most of the classes and/or provide copies of handouts and slides. Search our virtual classes archive.

  • Yes! The BYU Library is open for family history on Sundays (except holidays, General Conference, and BYU semester breaks) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. See more information about our Sunday hours.

  • Sunday classes will continue virtually. Eventually, we will also resume some scheduled in-person classes, but for the moment, they will be virtual only.

  • Yes, we love to host YSAs, youth, and adult groups for classes or other family history activities. To schedule a group, contact the family history missionaries. You can also schedule these on weekdays.

  • In most cases, this is because it is not time for the virtual class. The link is active at all times, but the classes are only shown at scheduled times. If you need technical help with Zoom, see Joining and Participating in Zoom Webinars.
