Remember Me Event Information for Participants

Info for BYU campus entities interested in participating in the "Remember Me: Honoring Our Ancestors from Around the World" event on Nov. 1, 2024. (Students and others wanting to attend, just come!)

On behalf of the Office of Belonging, BYU Library Family History Center, and the College of Humanities we would like to invite BYU campus entities to participate in the event: Remember Me: Honoring Our Ancestors from Around the World. This event coincides with the week of the Dia de los Muertos tradition. It is a unique opportunity for departments and services across campus to showcase the beautiful ways countries worldwide honor and celebrate their ancestors. It is also an opportunity to share information about campus resources—including yours—that foster connection and belonging.

Your participation will significantly contribute to this event, which will run alongside Multicultural Student Services and International Student and Scholar Services’ Dia De Los Muertos events.

Two ways to participate

You can choose one or both:

  1. Set up a booth in the WSC Garden Court on November 1st from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., representing an ancestral tradition(s) worldwide.
  2. From Oct 28 to Nov 1, set up a display in your department or office. (e.g. an ofrenda or other culturally themed display honoring family heritage.)

Please also Help promote this event to students!

By honoring our ancestors and celebrating those connections, we strengthen our bond as the family of God. Each participating location will be marked on an event map to encourage our campus community to visit. Please go to this form to indicate your interest: Remember Me sign up form. (BYU campus entities only except by invitation.)

This page will continue to have relevant information added to it.
