Surviving Your Visit to a Cemetery: Cemetery Etiquette

Cemeteries are places of history, memory, and respect. They can also be great sources of information for genealogists and family historians. In this video, you will learn some basic rules of etiquette when visiting a cemetery, such as how to avoid disturbing the graves, and how to ask permission before making rubbings. You will also discover some ways to clean and preserve the grave markers, such as using gentle brushes, water, and biodegradable cleaners. By following these guidelines, you will be able to honor the dead and learn more about your family history.
