Family History Service
Students desiring to give service can choose family history service opportunities.

Family History Service Opportunities
- Preparing family names for the temple
- Helping to grow the family tree
- Getting involved in making it possible to find people from the past
- Gathering and sharing family memories (photos and stories)
Getting Missionary Help
Friendly missionaries in the BYU Library are ready to help you learn ways to give family history service. There are a few ways to get help:
- Walk in to the BYU Library Family History Center (2250 HBLL) during missionary service hours and ask for a missionary to help you.
- Email familyhistorymissionaries@byu.edu, or call (801) 422-3766, to schedule an appointment. (For yourself or a group.)
- Visit the Virtual Family History Help Desk.
Anytime you do anything that helps anyone—on either side of the veil—take a step toward making covenants with God and receiving their essential baptismal and temple ordinances, you are helping to gather Israel. It is as simple as that.
