Use For

The ClearClick Video2Digital Converter 3.0 is a standalone device used for converting old analog video and audio sources into modern digital formats.

It supports digitizing content from a wide range of devices, including:

  • Video Sources: VCRs, VHS tapes, Camcorders (Hi8, Video8), DVD Players, DVRs, and Retro Gaming Systems.
  • Audio Sources: Cassette Tapes and Turntables/LP Records. 

Instructions for Use

  • Request at the Family History Help Desk.
  • No reservation. First come first serve.
  • Patrons must supply their own discs for reading/writing.
  • This device is designed to be used without a computer for the conversion process.
    • Setup: Connect your video/audio source (e.g., VCR or Camcorder) to the converter using the provided RCA (Red, White, Yellow) or S-Video cables into the AV IN ports. A working playback device (VCR/Camcorder) is required. 
    • Storage: Insert a USB Flash Drive or MicroSD Card (up to 512 GB) into the appropriate slot. The digital files are saved directly to this media. 
    • Recording: Turn on the device (it features a built-in rechargeable battery and a 5-inch LCD Preview Screen). Press the 'Rec/Stop' button to begin recording, and press it again to stop. 
    • Features: It includes a Custom Auto Stop feature to set a precise recording duration in minutes for unattended conversion. 
    • Transfer: Once complete, remove the USB drive/MicroSD card and insert it into a computer to transfer, edit (using included software), or view the digitized files.
