The History of Handwriting for Genealogists

Description

Every genealogist or family historian who spends the time to look at original records will immediately encounter different handwriting styles including poor handwriting in any style. This video gives you an overview of some handwriting styles going back thousands of years. The examples illustrate the difficulty of deciphering any handwriting and particularly handwriting before approximately 1550 A.D. There is also a suggested method to begin the process of learning to read old handwriting.
