Periodicals or more commonly known as “serials” in libraries are any publication that is published according to a schedule. They include newspapers, magazines, journals, newsletters, and other regular or irregular publications. There are millions of periodicals that are about genealogy and genealogical research. The Allen County Public Library has an index called PERSI or Periodical Source Index for genealogical publications that has over 3.1 million entries.
