Service Notes: He served as the pilot of the B-24D Liberator “Punjab” with the 320th Bombardment Squadron, 90th Bombardment Group. He and his crew of ten took off from Iron Range Airfield in Queensland, Australia, on a combat mission to bomb Japanese targets at Rabaul Harbor in New Britain. The bomber never returned. After departing on its mission, the Punjab and the men aboard simply disappeared and were never heard from or seen again. He was 24 years old.
