Born: 9 August 1920, Blackfoot, Bingham, Idaho, United States Died: 30 October 1943, India Served In: World War II Branch of Service: Army Rank: 1st Lieutenant Service Notes: He served as a pilot and squadron leader, entrusted with leading a formation of ten bombers through the difficult skies of the China Burma India Theater during World War II. Flying between Burma and India meant crossing some of the most rugged and unforgiving mountainous terrain in the world, where severe weather and poor visibility could make every flight dangerous. During one of these missions, his aircraft went down in the mountains between Burma and India. He was 23 years old.
