Rank: Sergeant Service Notes: He served with the medical corps detachment of the 301st Infantry, caring for wounded soldiers while accompanying combat troops through the fighting in Europe. Medical personnel often worked dangerously close to the front lines. While serving with his unit in Germany, he was killed in action. He was only 27 years old.
