Born: 17 April 1915, Oak City, Millard, Utah, United States Died: 1 August 1943, Bulgaria Served In: World War II Branch of Service: Army Rank: Captain Service Notes: He served as the pilot of the “Exterminator,” a B-24 Liberator, flying dangerous bombing missions against Axis targets in Europe. After taking part in a raid against the strategically important oil refineries at Ploiesti, Romania, he and his crew began the long flight back to base. While passing through a cloud bank over Bulgaria, where visibility was severely limited, the Exterminator collided with another returning aircraft. He was 28 years old.
