Born: 6 January 1920, Vernal, Uintah, Utah, United States Died: 16 November 1944, At Sea, somewhere near the West Indies Served In: World War II Branch of Service: Army Rank: 2nd Lieutenant Service Notes: He was a co-pilot aboard a B-24 Liberator when his crew departed Morotai Island on a combat mission against a Japanese fleet near North Borneo. The mission itself was successful, but danger followed them on the flight home. Their aircraft was struck by enemy fire and so badly damaged that the crew was forced to abandon it, bailing out over the sea. Though the mission had been accomplished, he never made it safely home and was killed in action. He was only 24 years old.
