Service Notes: He fought with American forces as they advanced into Germany during World War II. In Fraulautern, German forces fiercely defended the approaches to and crossings of the Saar River as American troops struggled to push deeper into enemy territory. Amid this difficult fighting, he was killed in action. He was only 22 years old.
