Born: 4 April 1921, Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States Died: 11 December 1944, Papua, Indonesia Served In: World War II Branch of Service: Army Rank: 2nd Lieutenant Service Notes: He served as a co-pilot during the Aleutian Islands campaign, flying combat missions against Japanese forces occupying Kiska Island. During an attack on two Japanese destroyers near the island, his aircraft was shot down. In the remote and unforgiving waters of the North Pacific, he was killed in action while helping fight against Japanese forces threatening the Aleutians. He was only 23 years old.
